Taksi Şoförü // Taxi Driver

Şerif Gören’in 1976 yapımı “Taksi Şoförü” filmi güncel sanat tarafından yeniden yorumlanıyor ve Ardan Özmenoğlu’nun sanatsal uygulamalarına konu oluyor. Sergi 4 Mart – 2 Nisan 2010 tarihleri arasında ALANistanbul’da!

Ardan Özmenoğlu yerel kültürel ürünleri, elemanları veya yapıtları kendine has renkli ve çarpıcı ifade biçimleri ile çağdaş sanatın kodlamaları içinde yorumlayan bir sanatçı. Bu açıdan kendi öznel deneyimlerini ve etkileşimlerini özgürce seçilmeyerek kendi sanatsal üretim süreçlerine dâhil etmekte ve yaratıcı bir şekilde kullanmaktadır. Mimari bir motiften, tarihsel bir olguya, popüler kültür içinde yer alan bir üründen, bir sinema yapıtına kadar kendisine dokunabilen bu “şeyler” onun çoğunlukla baskı tekniği kullanarak oluşturduğu yapıtlarında yeniden kodlanmakta ve güncel bir sanatsal söylemin parçası haline gelmekteler.

Ardan Özmenoğlu çalışmalarını  sergi mekânının tüm değişkenlerini ve kendisine sunduğu olanakları  yani mekânın kendisine söylediklerini dikkate alan bir sanatçı. Bu açıdan işler mekânla farklı ilişkiler üretmekte, kimi zaman mekânın kendi dinamikleri ile biçimlenirken kimi zamanda çalışmaların kendileri mekânı yeniden üretmekteler. “Taksi Şoförü” sergisinde Ardan Özmenoğlu, ALANistanbul’u serginin bütünlüğüne uygun olarak, sanatının görsel olanaklarını mekânı oluşturan tüm unsurları kullanarak çok katmanlı algılamalara ve çağrışımlara açıyor. Bu açıdan filmin içeriğinden mekânın içine doğru gerçekleşen hareket aralığında Ardan Özmenoğlu’nun baskıları ile oluşan çarpıcı yapıtlar, her bir izleyici için çoklu deneyimler vaat ediyor. 

One of the films of Şerif Gören, “Taxi Driver” which was produced in 1976, is being interpreted again and becoming a subject to the art practices of Ardan Özmenoğlu. The exhibition is in ALANistanbul between the dates of 4th of March and 2nd of April.

Ardan Özmenoğlu is an artist who interprets the local cultural outputs, components or compositions in between the modern art’s encodings with her characteristic, interesting and impressive language. From this point, she incorporates her own subjective experiences and interactions distinguishing freely to her own artistic process of production and uses them creatively. From an architectural motif to a historical phenomenon, from a product in the popular culture to a production of cinema, these ‘’things’’ which can affect her, are encoded in her productions in which she usually uses printing techniques and become a part of a current artistic expression.

Ardan Özmenoğlu is an artist who takes account of all the variables of the environment and the opportunities that the place presents, and what the place tells to her. From this point, the works produce various relations with the space; while sometimes these works are shaped with the own dynamics of the space, sometimes the works reproduce the space itself again. In the exhibition “Taxi Driver”, Ardan Özmenoğlu opens ALANistanbul to the multi layered perceptions and associations using all the components which constitute the place and visual opportunities of art inconformity with the integrity of the exhibition. From this point, in between the motion interval from the subject of the film and inside of the place, impressive productions which are formed with the prints of Ardan Özmenoğlu give an undertaking of multiple experiments for each of the spectators.
