Istanbul has a brand new festival: Nublu Jazz Festival. İlhan Ersahin and his New York crew, who are travelling all around the world, will hit the İstanbul scene once again. The festival’s New York leg hosted several new projects along with several Jazz legends and certainly Istanbul absolutely couldn’t be deprived of this delight.

The festival’s motto is the same: Music of Now! The aim is to create a meeting point between fresh jazz talent and the legends, welcoming all the masters and apprentices that converge to define the milestones of jazz -- a blend of today’s sound and jazz music’s golden age.

The Nublu Jazz Festival in Istanbul proudly presents: 70’s legend trumpeter Eddie Henderson, the most prominent names of Europe Jazz, Bugge Wesseltoft & Eric Truffaz/Sly Johnson duo, Nublu’s own Ilhan Ersahin’s Istanbul Sessions, Love Trio & I Led 3 Lives projects, vocal legend Bobby McFerrin’s super-talented son Taylor McFerrin and his kindred spirit from İstanbul, Bora Uzer, nu-jazz innovator Rubin Steiner, UK Chart monster & a 2008 Mercury Nominee Portico Quartet, and Turkish local talents Sarp Maden, Alp Ersonmez, 123....

Istanbul yepyeni bir festival kazanıyor... Ilhan Erşahin ve New York’tan hareketle tüm dünyaya kolları uzanan yaratıcı müzisyen dostları Garanti Caz Yeşili kapsamında Nublu Jazz Festival için bu kez Istanbul’da toplanıyor. Kasım ayında New York’taki kulübü nublu’da sürekli yenileri eklenen projeleri toplayan ve yanlarına caz efsanelerini de ekleyerek zengin bir programla gerçekleşen ilk festival o kadar ilgi gördü ki, bu yepyeni oluşumdan Istanbul’u mahrum bırakmak olmazdı.

Slogan yine aynı “music of now!”... Maksat caz efsanelerini genç yeteneklerle buluşturmak, bugünü sound’una ayak uyduran ve müziğin altın çağından beslenerek 21.yüzyıl cazının köşe taşlarını bugünden koyan usta, çırak tüm isimleri bir araya toplamak!

Festival kapsamında 70‘lerin efsane trompetçisi Eddie Herderson’dan, Avrupa cazın önemli isimleri Bugge Wesseltoft ve Erik Truffaz/Sly Johnson ikilisine; ev sahibi Ilhan Erşahin’in Istanbul Sessions, Love Trio ve I Led 3 Lives projelerinden, vokal efsanesi Bobby McFerrin’in babasının yolundan giden müthiş yetenekli oğlu Taylor McFerrin’a, Istanbul’daki ruh ikizi Bora Uzer’e; cazın yenilikçi ve enerjik yüzünün yeni nesil temsilcilerin Rubin Steiner’den, Ingiltere listelerinde sürpriz bir çıkış yapan, 2008 Mercury adayı, Portico Quartet’e; Türk caz’ını canlı tutan genç isimler Sarp Maden, Alp Ersönmez’den, taptaze ve güçlü sound’larıyla 123’e...
